Since 2014, Soho House Chicago has asked dozens of artists to paint murals on its north and south cornerstones — each mural gets covered monthly with two layers of grey paint. By excavating these layers with a power sander, blowtorch, and a variety of tools, this piece reveals more than 150 layers neon spray paint, gold leafing, and wheat-paste graphics from some of Chicago’s most prolific artists.
